I don't think that internet is the sole cause of internet addiction per say, but rather the meaning that we attach to it and how life today revolves mainly around the internet. Okay, maybe internet is to blame. But still, given how social interactions, communications, entertainment, work and business now all revolve mainly around the internet, it's really difficult to just plug out. After all, I'm sure all of us have experienced the email pile up after a few days offline before. Seems like the world has sort of moved on when we're offline.
